Stephanie Richards is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been with Lifeworks for four years now. She started as a Master’s level Practicum Student, then graduated and saw client as an Intern, and is now a fully licensed therapist. Mrs. Richards attended the University of North Texas and received a BA in Psychology with a minor in Addictions. She then continued her education at Amberton University and graduated with a Masters’ degree in Professional Counseling.
Stephanie has experience working with children ages 8+, adolescents, adults, at-risk youth, families involved with Child Protective Services, and individuals court-ordered for treatment in a community counseling setting. She also has two years’ experience working at an inpatient behavioral health hospital, conducting group and individual therapy. As a counselor, she has worked with clients on issues such as stress/anxiety, depression, bipolar, grief, self-esteem, life transitions, and chemical dependency. She is also working on specializing in pregnancy (prenatal and post-partum) and Adoption counseling, working with individuals who have been adopted and birth mothers who are looking to adopt or have adopted a child.
Stephanie uses an eclectic approach to counseling, with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy. Her desire is to help individuals better understand themselves and work through life’s issues in a healthy and positive way, to help achieve their goals.
