Lesley Craton, M.S. is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. Lesley Craton has experience with a wide range of developmental and psychological concerns faced by children, adolescents, and adults. She enjoys working with individuals from all walks of life and has much experience working with those who have experienced complex trauma.
She has received extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which is an effective therapy for adults and teens with a history of trauma and/or who struggle with managing their emotions, difficulty finding joy and struggle in interpersonal relationships.
Additionally, Lesley is trained in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is an evidenced based treatment that allows people to heal from emotional distress related to disturbing life experiences. EMDR has used to successfully treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, depression, addictions, complicated grief, stress and pain relief.
Clients can expect Lesley Craton to take a compassionate, non-judgemental, client centered approach, focusing on their strengths and future goals. Lesley Craton uses a variety of theoretical approaches and adapts her approach to each individual based on his or her needs.
In her spare time, Lesley enjoys reading, exercising, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
