Dr. Helmcamp is a licensed psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral (BCBA-D). She completed M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in psychology from the University of North Texas. She completed a pediatric neuropsychology fellowship in a rehabilitation center affiliated with the University of Missouri-Columbia. She completed additional academic courses in the Department of Behavior Analysis at the University of North Texas while fulfilling requirements as a BCBA-D.
Dr. Helmcamp has experience providing counseling and behavioral interventions in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities, rehabilitation hospitals, and school systems. She provides individual counseling to adolescents and adults who are coping with a variety of issues including adjustment to life stressors, mood disorders, and ADHD. She utilizes a cognitive-behavioral approach to treatment that promotes the development of healthy coping skills to assist pre-adolescents, teenagers, and adults with improving their quality of life.
Dr. Helmcamp enjoys yoga, bicycling, walking/jogging, and spending time with her family and pets.
