Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has worked in a variety of settings with families through private practice and within the community. She worked as a family advocate educating at-risk families and supporting abused children. She provided crisis counseling to individuals needing immediate intervention and assisted them in getting the appropriate care. In addition to individual and family counseling, she has led groups for kids, adolescents and adults.

Most recently, Amanda spent time traveling to various military bases helping military families cope with military life and adjustments. She also provided trainings to military staff and families in areas such as communication, teamwork, stress management and cultural diversity.

Amanda has a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and a Masters in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has a Bachelor degree in Family Studies from Texas Tech University.

Amanda specializes in play therapy with children, adolescent and family counseling. Some of the common areas she addresses include depression, self-esteem, chronic illness, anxiety, abuse, domestic violence, grief, trauma, parenting and family relationships, women’s issues, communication and anger management.

Amanda enjoys traveling, watching football, spending time with family and friends and playing with her dog, Dobby, who is currently training to become a therapy dog, so he can help people too.
